Regenerator Head, Cyclone, and Flue Gas Line Replacement
This project involved the fabrication and installation of a regenerator head, cyclone, and flue gas line, at a major Canadian refinery. REBL was involved from the early stages of the project, reviewing refractory design, ITPs, refractory installation and dryout procedures, and making recommendations regarding refractory design and execution.
Over the course of six months, REBL provided shop inspection and QA services during the fabrication of the components at a vendor’s fabrication shop in eastern Canada, ensuring that anchoring and refractory was installed according to drawings, client and API specifications, and industry best practise.
After successful fabrication and delivery of the components to the client’s site, REBL was present onsite during the entire FCCU turnaround, providing inspection and QA services for the installation of the new components, as well for maintenance repairs of existing equipment. Throughout the turnaround, as-installed refractory samples were sent to REBL’s laboratory for testing.
