OSB Plant Emergency Shutdown

REBL was called in by a new client for an emergency shutdown of an OSB plant’s energy system. On site, REBL inspected and assessed the damaged refractory, and recommended a repair plan. During the refractory repair work, REBL provided quality assurance and surveillance, assuring proper installation procedures and industry best practices were followed.

After the turnaround, REBL prepared and submitted a final refractory report, which included documentation of the completed inspections and repairs, repair mapping, and refractory recommendations for next year’s shutdown scope, helping the client with future refractory maintenance planning and management of budget. Until today, REBL has been a key part of this plant’s refractory maintenance program, and is proud to report that there have been no unexpected refractory related outages since the start of our involvement many years ago.
